Daniel H. McCollum
Dan is Deputy Head of Investments with direct responsibility for alternative investments and illiquid markets including private equity, hedge funds and special opportunities. Dan is a member of Hirtle Callaghan’s Investment Policy Committee and the Investment Strategy Committee as well as the firm’s Management Committee. In addition to leading Hirtle Callaghan’s alternatives investment program, Dan will have responsibility for the firm’s manager underwriting process.
Prior to joining Hirtle Callaghan, Dan was one of two Managing Directors in Brown University’s Investment Office where he co-managed Brown’s $3.5 billion endowment, investing across public equities, private equity, fixed income, hedge funds, and special opportunities. He was also the Portfolio Manager for Brown’s direct investing program and had responsibility for co-investments. Prior to joining Brown’s Endowment, Dan spent over four years as Managing Director of Narragansett Asset Management, a private family investment office.
Dan started his career in investment banking at Deutsche Bank/Bankers Trust and worked at Bank of America specializing in structured credit investments. Dan holds a B.A. in Economics from UC Berkeley and an M.B.A. from the Columbia Business School.
