Meet Bill Hagan
Our mission and values are ingrained in everything we do, and this begins with the principle that we exist to serve our clients. This client-centric culture is evident in every decision we make and at all levels of the firm.
Bill Hagan joined Hirtle Callaghan in August 2005 as an Analyst and now serves as a Director and Senior Portfolio Manager working primarily with our family clients. What initially attracted Bill to Hirtle Callaghan was that we were already a well-established firm, but we were also still growing so he felt he could make a difference. “Right from the start I was able to jump in and get personally involved with clients. I found my niche working with our family clients, many with whom I have now partnered for over 13 years” he shared.
The impact of taxes is one of the big concerns for our family clients. Heading up our Family Implementation Group, Bill works closely with our investment team to ensure that the managers we select and the strategies we implement address their concerns. “I am focused on helping optimize after-tax, risk-adjusted returns.”
Hirtle Callaghan’s Mission and Values is a list of principles that we use to guide our conduct when interacting with clients, industry colleagues and each other. First among these principles is that we exist to serve our clients. “I love my day-to-day role as a Portfolio Manager where I am at the cross section of investment strategy and relationship management. I am able to integrate Hirtle Callaghan’s best resources for our clients in a way that is entirely customized for what they need.”
Even though Bill joined back in 2005, he says “Hirtle Callaghan is still a size that I get to work with people all across the firm even though we have continued to grow. We have an open floor plan so that conversations with all colleagues, even senior-level management, take place casually over the cubicle. And the same culture exists – we are open to new people, new ideas and always looking to innovate in the best interest our clients.”
