Semiconductors Transforming the Valley
In February, we were delighted to host a roundtable discussion to address the fast-growing landscape for U.S. semiconductor manufacturing in Arizona. Over 80 people joined us at El Chorro Lodge in Paradise Valley to hear from two renowned experts who have been integral to the semiconductor “revolution” taking place in Arizona. Hirtle Callaghan Investment Officer Mike Casey moderated a conversation with Christine Mackay, Community and Economic Development Director at City of Phoenix, and Kyle Squires, Dean of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University. Together, they discussed the economic and societal implications of Taiwan Semiconductor’s $165 billion investment in a “fab” complex in Phoenix. The impact will be profound, creating opportunities such as new jobs as well as challenges related to managing expansion.
Our guests also had an opportunity to hear from Hirtle Callaghan Chief Investment Officer Brad Conger, and Managing Director Garrett Wilson about our current market views and where we go from here and what might lie ahead in 2025.
